In response, the demand for advanced logistics infrastructure to handle order fulfillment and delivery management is rising. The sector offers numerous career opportunities, from supply chain analysts to inventory managers, catering to a wide range of skill levels. As businesses continue to scale their operations and adapt to shifting consumer expectations, the logistics industry remains a promising field for employment and career advancement.

Programme Introduction

The Post Graduate Diploma in Logistics with Specialisation in Drone Operations is a one-year programme offered by the School of Skill Education, TISS in collaboration with the Logistics Sector Skill Council, Chennai. This specialised programme provides student an in-depth understanding of drone manufacturing, programming, and operations, equipping them with practical skills through lab sessions, project work, and flight training. The programme prepares students for a variety of careers in Drone Operations in the rapidly expanding drone industry. They gain the skills needed to leverage drone technology to solve real-world challenges, contributing to the responsible advancement of drone technology across multiple industries. Graduates can pursue drone techniques jobs with drone suppliers, defense organisations, government agencies, and startups in sectors such as manufacturing, logistics, telecommunications, and rural development. As part of the programme, students will receive training to obtain their Remote Pilot License, approved by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). The cost of the license is included in the programme fees. It is to note that the issuance of the license is subject to approvals from DGCA-authorised departments.
