Bachelor’s degree in Computer Sciences, Information Technology (BE / B-Tech in IT / CS , BSc - IT, BCA) or any other Bachelor’s degree with programming knowledge. In addition in-service personnel from Police, Defence, Paramilitary forces and related units with basic knowledge of programming can apply

In today's digital age, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is indispensable, impacting every aspect of daily life. The IT-ITeS sector, encompassing IT services, engineering design, R&D, and BPO services, plays a crucial role in enhancing organizational efficiency. Rapid technological advancements, globalization, and the growing reliance on digital platforms have made IT-ITeS a highly competitive and transformative sector. Within this, Cyber Security stands out as an essential for safeguarding information and ensuring secured communication, making it a critical area for education and employment in the modern world.

Programme Introduction

Cybersecurity is becoming increasingly vital in our interconnected world, driven by digitalization and the Internet of Things (IoT). Cyber attacks can lead to severe consequences such as data breaches, financial losses, and reputational damage. Therefore, robust cybersecurity measures are essential to mitigate these risks and protect valuable information. The Post Graduate Diploma in Cyber Security is a one-year, full-time specialised programme which covers critical topics such as cyber law, network security, cryptography, ethical hacking, cybercrime investigations, and risk management. It equips students with the necessary knowledge and skills to identify, prevent, and respond to cyber threats effectively so as to safeguard/protect digital assets. This Programme prepares students to skilfully face/handle/adopt the challenges of securing digital environments in today's rapidly evolving technological landscape. 1. Cybersecurity Push in Union Budget 2025 The budget emphasises protecting digital infrastructure, with focus on IoT security and cyber law enforcement. This follows a 2,500% rise in crypto-related forensic cases from 2020 to 2024, underscoring the need for experts in cybercrime investigations. 2. Rising Cybercrime Investigations Demand Forensic Experts According to the Ministry of Home Affairs, forensic analysis of around 11,203 digital devices, the surge in cases involving ransomware, phishing, and crypto laundering has heightened the need for professionals trained in cybercrime investigations and digital forensics. 3. Rising Cybersecurity Threats in India's Financial Sector With the growing digitisation of India's financial sector, cybersecurity threats have escalated, leading to a significant increase in the demand for cybersecurity experts. Banks and financial institutions are investing heavily in cybersecurity to protect sensitive data and ensure the safety of digital transactions. 4. Increased Investment in Cybersecurity Infrastructure by Enterprises Indian enterprises are ramping up their investments in cybersecurity infrastructure to safeguard their operations from cyberattacks. This trend is driving the demand for cybersecurity professionals who can design, implement, and manage robust security systems, making a career in cybersecurity highly promising. 5. Government Push for Cybersecurity Awareness and Skill Development The Indian government has launched multiple initiatives to enhance cybersecurity awareness and skill development across the country.
