Yes. SSE offers the 'Bachelor in Hotel Management (Golden Threshold Programme)' in association with Taj Hotels. Students can be eligible to join the Hotelier Development Programme (Taj Management Training) or Hotels Operations Training (Taj Supervisory Training). Students are not required to sign any bond.

Yes. The 'Bachelor in Retail Management (The Retail Ready Programme)' is offered in association with Zudio. It blends theoretical courses with hands-on OJT at real Zudio retail stores, covering store management, accounts, product distribution, and e-commerce.

SSE follows a holistic skilling pedagogy with a 40% classroom instruction (general education and domain knowledge) and 60% practical skill training (On-the-Job Training). The 'work while you learn' approach ensures students gain real industry experience while studying.

National Occupational Standards (NOS) specify the standard of performance an individual must achieve when carrying out a function in the workplace, together with the knowledge and understanding required. All SSE programmes incorporate sector-specific job roles and their corresponding NOS.

NSQF (National Skills Qualifications Framework) is a nationally integrated, competency-based framework that organises qualifications into levels 1 to 10. SSE Bachelor programmes are aligned to NSQF/NCrF level 4.5 (Year 1), 5 (Year 2), and 5.5 (Year 3). Diploma programmes are at level 5, and PG Diploma programmes are at level 6 or 6.5.

WITP is SSE's signature model where all Bachelor programmes combine theoretical classroom learning with continuous On-the-Job Training (OJT) in real industry settings. This includes approximately 4–5 days per week of practical training and 1 day of theory per week, providing about 30 hours/week of practical training and 12 hours/week of theoretical classes.

Each student is required to complete approximately 360 hours of On-the-Job Training (OJT) per semester at a designated Knowledge Partner for Skill Training (KPST) location, totalling 600 to 720 hours per year depending on the industry sector requirement.

Yes. SSE programmes are designed based on Outcome Based Education (OBE) as per the National Education Policy (NEP 2020) and are aligned to NSQF/NCrF framework guidelines.

TISS-SSE has developed its own Vocational Aptitude System (VAS) to assist candidates in selecting a programme that matches their individual aptitudes and interests, helping them make a more informed and suitable programme choice.

Yes. There are campus immersion sessions at the TISS School of Skill Education. However, lodging and boarding costs are not included in the programme fees. Students must arrange and pay for their own accommodation, though TISS SSE will facilitate help in finding it.

Theoretical/classroom sessions are delivered by TISS SSE faculty. Service Providers (SPs) provide local facilitation for these classes at various centres across India, coordinating with students and Knowledge Partners for the OJT component.

The 3-year Bachelor programme is divided into 6 semesters (2 per year). Each year leads to a standalone certification: Year 1 = Certificate/Diploma (NSQF 4.5), Year 2 = Advanced Diploma (NSQF 5), Year 3 = Bachelor's Degree (NSQF 5.5). The PG Diploma is a 1-year programme of 2 semesters.

The minimum eligibility for Bachelor programmes is 10+2 (HSC) or equivalent examination in the relevant stream. Some programmes also accept 10th + 2 years ITI qualification. Specific eligibility varies by programme and stream.

Yes. Candidates appearing for their final HSC/equivalent examination can apply, provided they meet the eligibility criteria and upload all necessary documents at the time of admission. Their admission remains provisional until the qualifying exam results are available. The 10+2 examination must have been conducted before the course commencement date.

Yes, for some programmes the age limit is 18 to 24 years. However, the age limit may vary from programme to programme. Candidates should check the specific eligibility criteria in the SSE Brochure 2025-26 before applying.

For Post Graduate Diploma programmes, learners who have successfully completed a B.Voc or an equivalent graduate degree programme are eligible. The PG Diploma requires a 3-year degree for NSQF Level 6 admission, or a 4-year degree for NSQF Level 6.5 admission.

No. Eligibility rules as specified for each programme shall be strictly followed and will not be relaxed under any circumstances. Candidates must ensure they fulfil all eligibility requirements before applying.

If a candidate's qualifying examination is not recognised by TISS as identified during verification, they will not be eligible for admission. All such admissions (if already provided) will stand cancelled and fees paid will also be forfeited.

No. No bonafide BSc/Bachelor/B.Voc student is permitted to pursue any other full-time Undergraduate programme with the same or another university simultaneously.
