Yes. Scholarships are periodically announced by the School of Skill Education subject to availability. Students are encouraged to check the SSE portal and notifications regularly for scholarship announcements.

OJT (On-the-Job Training) is hands-on practical training conducted at real industry workplaces (the 'shop floor'). It is a mandatory component of every SSE Bachelor programme (a Work Integrated Training Programme). Each student completes approximately 360 hours of OJT per semester at a designated Knowledge Partner for Skill Training (KPST) location.

A Knowledge Partner for Skill Training (KPST) is an industry partner (company or organisation) identified by SSE to provide On-the-Job Training (OJT) to students on their actual shop floor, enabling students to gain hands-on practical experience in their chosen skill sector. KPSTs are available pan India.

Yes. OJT can be considered at the organisation where you are already working, provided: (1) practical training relevant to the programme and learning objectives is imparted, and (2) the organisation accepts the terms and conditions of SSE and adheres to its academic guidelines.

Yes. In selected skill sectors, internships or OJT sometimes offer students the opportunity to earn a stipend while engaging in skill training, fulfilling the required terms and conditions. This varies by programme and industry partner.

For any queries related to attendance, OJT, or examinations, students should contact the SSE-appointed Onsite Supervisor or Service Provider. Students may also connect with the respective Vertical Manager (VM) looking after their programme.

A Vertical Manager is a person appointed by SSE to supervise all vocational education programmes within a specific sector (vertical). The VM is responsible for smooth programme delivery and acts as the focal contact point between the student and the Service Provider throughout the programme duration.

A Service Provider (SP) is a local partner identified by SSE to provide local facilitation for theory lectures delivered by SSE. SPs also coordinate students' OJT with KPSTs, assist with placement, and support resource mobilisation such as scholarships and sponsorships.

Knowledge Partners for Skill Training (KPSTs) are available pan India. Student admission to skill programmes is subject to the availability of a local KPST at specified locations across India. After online document verification, students receive confirmation of their KPST location.

Students engage in approximately 30 hours per week of practical/OJT training and 12 hours per week of theoretical classes, typically working 4–5 days at the OJT/KPST location and 1 day in theory sessions per week.

All Degrees, Diplomas, and Certificates are awarded by TISS (Tata Institute of Social Sciences). Examinations and certifications are conducted with the rigour and high quality standards established by TISS SSE.

The Bachelor programme has 3 exit points: Year 1 – Certificate/Diploma (NSQF/NCrF Level 4.5), Year 2 – Advanced Diploma (NSQF/NCrF Level 5), Year 3 – Bachelor's Degree (NSQF/NCrF Level 5.5). All certifications are awarded by TISS and recognised nationally and internationally.

SSE follows the UGC-recommended 10-point grading system with letter grades. A grade point of 4.0 is the minimum requirement for passing individual courses, including fieldwork, internship, and research project components.

A student obtaining Grade F is considered failed and is required to re-appear in the examination. The student must score at least a 4.0 grade point to pass any individual course.

The Semester Grade Point Average (SGPA) is the ratio of the sum of the product of credits and grade points for all courses in a semester, divided by the total credits of that semester. The Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) is calculated the same way across all semesters of the programme.

For skill-based components (OJT, internship, project reports), assessment is carried out by an Internal Examiner (50%) and an External Examiner (50%). Internships are jointly assessed by the supervisor/trainer and an external examiner appointed by SSE. For theory courses, the weightage is 30% internal and 70% end-semester exam.

For OJT/internship assessment, each student must: (1) prepare a detailed plan within 15 days of joining, (2) maintain a daily/weekly activity diary sent to the supervisor weekly, (3) submit a final report of 2,000–2,500 words at the end. Assessment parameters include punctuality, performance, skills demonstrated, and supervisor feedback.

Yes. The stand-alone certifications awarded at each exit point (Certificate, Advanced Diploma, Bachelor's Degree) of the 3-year Bachelor programme are aligned to NSQF/NCrF and are recognised across national and international universities.

Yes. All Bachelor programmes at SSE allow Multiple Entry and Multiple Exit (ME-ME). This means students can exit after Year 1 (with a Certificate/Diploma), after Year 2 (with an Advanced Diploma), or after Year 3 (with a Bachelor's Degree), and re-enter later to upgrade their qualifications.

Students must complete the Bachelor's Degree within 4 years (even though the minimum duration is 3 years). The multiple exit feature allows students to pause and re-join as long as the degree is completed within this 4-year window.
